Dear IAMCP colleagues,
When I first took over as leader of the IAMCP back in 2005 we were present in only four countries - USA, Canada, Italy and Sweden. Together with my leadership team, we expanded the IAMCP network of chapters to over 40 countries - and together with IDC we measured the impact of our members’ P2P revenue to more than $10 Billion annually. That was an exciting journey and it is always wonderful to be part of something very successful.
Now more than ten years later I see that the IAMCP is mature and well established as the thought leader in building Partner to Partner business. It’s time to think about our direction and building on our strengths to grow this amazing organization.
There are over 400,000 Microsoft Partners around the world. IAMCP’s role is to represent the majority of the partner voices and create business opportunities. Today we do not represent as large of a percentage of the ecosystem as we could. This gives us an opportunity to tackle the challenge and make a change.
Around the world, our most effective chapters deliver extraordinary value. The proof is the growth in our members’ business attributed to being associated with IAMCP. Honest reflection however tells us that there is opportunity to make adjustments. Some chapters are less active and as a result membership isn’t as robust as it could be and members don’t realize the same business opportunities for expansion and profits. I would encourage you to think about three things:
- What does you chapter need to do in order to expand and serve more partners?
- Who would best represent the chapter on the local board? Individuals with strong reputations in the market, willing to go that extra mile to foster an active, enthusiastic environment are the future of IAMCP
- What can you do to support the push to boost membership by at least 10% in the next year? The more members we have, the stronger our voice and bigger our business opportunities.
Increasing membership comes with delivering value. Quality content and a predictable rhythm of meetings provide the foundation along with being member centric.
IAMCP has a bright future ahead. We are unique in embracing Microsoft partners in all countries and in all competencies – we are truly the only worldwide community in this ecosystem and we need to realize our potential and keep on delivering the very highest value possible to our members.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude for having been given the honor to lead the IAMCP. As you know I have a great passion for our great ecosystem and for developing P2P. The one thing that I value the most are the meetings with wonderful people from different backgrounds, cultures and geographies and I am proud to say that I have made great friendships along the way and I look forward to forging many more.
