I still meet ISVs that do not allow their application to run on virtual servers.
They will likely say that it is not a supported solution which gives their customers no options. I think that as an ISV there is a missed opportunity and a risk to be seen as obsolete if you turn down virtualization. Of course you should test your application but only in very rare circumstances should you be afraid.
Another funny observation is that some ISVs say that they support virtualization on VMware ESX but not on Microsoft Hyper-V. To me this is total craziness and I believe that there is no need to discriminate Microsoft when it comes to virtualization.
As an ISV you should embrace and support virtualization becasue that is where the industry is going and where your customers wants to be.
And of course you should support virtualization on borth VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V.
Your customers will love you for support modern computing! And then you are halfway to the cloud!
