Now I am starting to see friends in different counties getting hit by the recession.
There are many lay offs already and a few friends of mine have lost their jobs. And my friends that are business owners are beginning to plan for 'negative growth'.
I see that we in the industry have both a responsilbility as well as an opportunity. We want to help our customers though the recession and we want them to prosper - because when our customer are feeling well, then we are also feeling well.
In some industries their is cost cutting all over the line and we as Microsoft partners can instead help our customers with clever cost cutting. Or as I like to say - 'We can help them invest so that they take out cost and build longterm sustainability'.
Just cutting IT spend is a bad way because clever and modern IT bring automation that reduce manual labor and it help our customers to serve their customer better [and less costly].
So our mission as the best IT people in the world, as Microsoft partners, must be to increase our business so that we can to give our customer the best solutions ever, and to let IT be an enabler for taking out cost elsewhere in our customer's organizations.
If we do our job well we will help taking the world economy out of this recession quicker - and our customers will be in a better positition than the ones that are not customer to a Microsoft partner!
To paraphrase a great and wellknown person, the 44th President of the USA - 'Change, We Can' - we can change our customers prospects to something better!
