Once again the mask has dropped for the open source community.
In the European press the spin is a community of European small software developers, but a new listing of its members by Open Source Europe shows it is once again driven and funded by IBM and companies from the good old US of A.
For many years Open Forum Europe have guarded the secrecy of its membership and I can see why. IBM, Google, Oracle, and Sun derive massive revenues from the work of the open source community.
What a business model! It is like if I decided to no longer pay my employees.
Happy Open Forum (Europe) is becoming more transparent but if they want to be credible I suggest when they lobby in Brussels to call themselves Open Forum Corporation.
