60th Anniversary Celebration of United Nations Human Rights Declaration

Now it is 60 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted by the UN General Assembly on Dec. 10, 1948.

I believe that Human Rights are not respected everywhere but in the IT industry we have come far.

It is important that we as 'Captains of the Industry' continue to promote equal opportunities for everyone regardless of culture, religion, ethnicity or gender. And that we only partner with companies that respect this - each and one of us should watch their supply lines so that the companies we do business with are respecting the UDHR.

I believe that we are lucky to be in the IT industry because our problems are nothing compared with industries like the mining or textile industry.

I also know that this is top of mind of Microsoft as they are a role mode regarding UDHR and of course their founder Mr. Bill Gates is a role model in philantrophy.

Congratulations UDHR on your 60th bithday!
