This has been a wonderful week in Seattle! The weather was friendly and it felt more like Summer than Autumn! On the other hand - if you are sitting in a conference room perhaps the weather is less important...
It is always rewarding to sit down with other Microsoft partners and to compare business. Over 300 partners were in Seattle the past week as being part of different advisory councils.
Many partners expressed that customers have started to delay projects while on the other hand there is a renewed focus from customer on projects that really save money.
My take on this is that an IT project needs to provide a tangible return with 9 months - if you can show your customer that he will be able to save cost or reach other important effects within 9 months then it is a no-brainer for the customer.
I am always scared about projects that projects 3 years before return on investment is made.
ROI needs to come pretty quick!
